Education for professional care givers to assist them in optimizing their communication and interactions with people living with dementia.

Learning Objectives:

1. Difference between dementia and Alzheimer’s disease

2. Types of dementia and brain functions affected in dementia

3. Using the Retrogenesis Theory to care for people living with dementia.

4. Basic communication strategies for interactions

5. How to approach and begin cares.

Personnel who communicate and interact with people living with dementia in medical facilities.

This workshop is designed to meet the continuing education requirements for the MN Board of Nursing, MN Board of Social Work & Long Term Care. It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine whether these activities meet the current criteria for continuing education.

Registration Fees

Medi-Sota Members: $50/facility (unlimited registrants)

• Facilities will be billed closer to the course date.  

Non-Medi-Sota Members: $75 per person

Prior to the program, you will receive an email with any additional course information. Registration Deadline: October 7th, 2024 by 5pm this ensures all registrants will receive course information & any materials in a timely manner.

Cancellations must be made no later than 10 business days prior to the start of the course. The full course fee will be charged if cancellation is made in less than 10 business days. Full refunds will be given for all classes cancelled by Medi-Sota. Registration is transferable to another person.
