 scription:\nThis 4 hour training is an overview of the medical forensic se
 xual assault exam. The training will include information about the 2024 up
 dates to the MN Sexual Assault Evidence Collection kit and the new Sexual 
 Assault Toxicology kit.\nThe presentation covers legal considerations and 
 the hospital statutory requirements for patients requesting a medical fore
 nsic exam and the updates to the Minnesota Sexual Assault Exam Payment Pro
 gram (MSAEPP).\nWe will discuss when and how to collect&nbsp\; evidentiary
  specimens\, packaging the sexual assault kit\, documentation\, injury ide
 ntification\, reporting to law enforcement\, Restricted and Unrestricted k
 it storage\, prophylaxis medications and tips for taking a medicolegal his
 tory from the patient.\nThe presentation is designed to increase nurses’ c
 onfidence and competence when conducting medical forensic exams and to imp
 rove the quality of care for patients that have experienced sexual violenc
