One of the key elements of service in health care is to remember the whole person is before you. The medical intervention is only part of the equation. The other part is addressing and attending to the humanity every person brings to their medical situation. Medical professionals need to be as attentive to patients’/residents’ fears and emotional reactions as they are to the medical procedures they are employing. Medicine is the science and service is the spirit in health care.

*Understand how service impacts the patient’s experience
*Learn what patients expect receiving health care
*How to deliver service beyond expectations
