Description:

Learn the basics of mental illness and dementia as well as the risk factors and warning signs of both disorders in older adults. Join to discuss treatment, management and recovery. You will learn some strategies for working with someone living with both disorders and learn about resources for both conditions.

Learning Objectives:

Who Should Attend: Senior workers in assisted living, long-term care facilities, adult day programs, rehab facilities, senior centers, case management and senior housing. Pastoral care, health clinic staff, faith based nurses, case managers, Meals on Wheels volunteers, hospice staff and volunteer befrienders.

Continuing Education:  Clock Hours:  2.5              

This workshop is designed to meet the continuing education requirements for the MN Board of Nursing, MN Board of Social Work, and MN BELTS&S. It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine whether these activities meet the current criteria for continuing education.
