Webinar Only -Recording available to all registrants for 60 days

Description:

In Minnesota we often are called to treat patients with severe weather related injuries and illnesses. Treatment for them varies based on severity and length of exposures. This can be inside and outside exposures. Additionally certain populations are at high risk for hypothermia, more so than others. Knowing the physiology of what is occurring and how we treat it can change the outcome for the patient. Along with that new treatment methods have come about for the treatment of frostbite and have been instrumental in reducing worse outcomes for patients suffering from frostbite.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review the pathophysiology of temperature and review the physiology behind temperature regulation
  2. 2. Review hypothermia and physiological presentations as well as treatment
  3. Review frostbite and management of them including touching on thrombolytic therapy
