Career Center

The Recruitment Program is a Joint Venture between Medi-Sota and the Rural Health Alliance that provides recruiting services to members of both consortiums for Physicians, Mid-Levels, and Allied Staff Professionals...
Please visit the Career Center for a list of current openings at member facilities.

The Medi-Sota Education program offers a variety of workshops pertaining to healthcare including Acute Care, Long Term Care, Management, Business Office, Compliance, and other Ancillary Departments.  Most workshops are available at no cost or a reduced rate to members.  A library of training videos is also available to Members Only at no charge.

Because Medi-Sota covers a wide region of MN, we also offer several workshops by videoconferencing so members do not have to travel long distances and can remain on site for their training.  Visit the Medi-Sota Education page to review a list of upcoming workshops.

Mentor Health

The Lac qui Parle Health Network (LqPHN) was awarded a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grant to fund the MENTOR Health IT project. This project connects network members with the broader health consortium, Medi-Sota, to propagate best practices and effective models for implementing and optimizing health information technology solutions to meet the needs of the rural, sparsely populated and rapidly aging southwest region of MN. Now more than ever, patients expect swift and accurate service. A client utilizing the services of a CPA firm expects timely and precise preparation of tax documents during the tax season. A patient on an appointment to their physician expects timely and accurate performance of all medical services too. Even a distributor of a man-ufacturer’s products expects timely and accurate service from their customer service representative. An organi-zation, whether it is a manufacturer or professional service provider, cannot provide this level of service if it car-ries out processes containing wasteful practices and habits. Employees are not robots and we cannot expect them to behave like machines but we can equip them with processes that are defined, accurate and precise, where waste is eliminated, customers get the service they want and become customers for life by choice.

This workshop will be followed by more workshops specific to the LEAN process.

Objectives: This LEAN series of seminars will teach you the following:
*The organizational commitment necessary to succeed at improving office and administrative processes
*The critical value streams to act upon to experience positive impact on customers
*Mapping of current and future practices as well as relevant metrics
*How to eliminate waste and improve office and administrative processes
*How to level the demand for and create a continuous flow of work

*How to commit to a LEAN Healthcare environment
*How to identify and map the current value stream
*Identify waste and recommend improvements
*How to map the future value stream
*The tools of standard work as well as 5S
*Identifying and implementing Lean Metrics
*Leveling demand flow
