The Medi-Sota Education program offers a variety of workshops pertaining to healthcare including Acute Care, Long Term Care, Management, Business Office, Compliance, and other Ancillary Departments. Most workshops are available at no cost or a reduced rate to members. A library of training videos is also available to Members Only at no charge.

Description: The Credentialing 101 program provides discussion on medical staff services and credentialing relative to understanding the importance, functions, and key components of best practice for credentialing and privileging. You will discuss the process of an application, includ-ing primary source verification and reviewing the application for red flags.

Presenter: Marie Hamborg, LPN, CPCS, CPMSM
Marie is the founder and current CEO of MJ Hamborg Consulting Services for medical Staff Services/Credentialing. She has over 22 years experience in the healthcare field. She is a cur-rent member of MAMSS and NAMSS as well as the President for MAMSS. Marie has overall experience in credentialing, privileging, developing and revising credentialing policies and pro-cedures, quality improvement activities, compliance with the National Committee on Quality Assurance, the Joint Commission, Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program, the Minnesota Department of Health, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
