The Medi-Sota Education program offers a variety of workshops pertaining to healthcare including Acute Care, Long Term Care, Management, Business Office, Compliance, and other Ancillary Departments. Most workshops are available at no cost or a reduced rate to members. A library of training videos is also available to Members Only at no charge.

Description: Dealing with an impaired health care worker or colleague is a challenging, emotionally charged responsibility for medical clinic, long term care, and hospital administrators, physicians, nurse leaders, and co-workers. This presentation offers much needed training on how to handle such a situation.
Objectives: Upon conclusion of this presentation, participants will have greater knowledge about:
· The incidence of addiction among health care professionals (HCP) and which fields are most vulnerable
· The challenges associated with confronting the problem including the signs and symptoms of chemical abuse in the health care workplace
· The steps they can take to get help for the impaired HCP
· How addiction impacts judgment and safety issues associated with HCP impairment
· The reporting requirements and resources available to help you help others
· Evaluation and treatment concerns
· Return to work issues for the HCP after treatment
